Salinas, CA (June 25, 2023) - Join the City of Salinas at Closter Park for a community event kicking off our Salinas Streets Shine Together campaign. The City of Salinas cordially invites residents, businesses, and community organizations to join hands in fostering cleaner and more vibrant streets. Together, we can make a lasting positive impact on our environment, safeguard our local water quality, and enhance the livability of our neighborhoods.

Visuals: Street Sweeping Experiment - Measure how much toxic pollution is collected
Water Pollution Demonstration: City Officials will add debris and water to a plexiglass container to show how waterways are affected when debris is not properly removed.
Street sweeping effectively removes both large and microscopic pollutants that accumulate on city streets and provides the following additional benefits:
- Beautifies the community
- Protects local water quality
- Reduces environmental harm
- Helps prevent localized flooding
